At DonsOnline, we specialise in simple, easy to manage websites for the small business, sole trader and clubs and organizations in the UK. If you're looking for an all singing, all dancing "look at me!" website, then we're not for you.

If you want a presence on the World Wide Web which is easy on the eye, doesn't play awful musak and is in good taste, then you're in the right place.

Sample sites

As you can imagine we've built a few sites since 2004 - some still going, others but a distant memory. Here are just a few samples to show you what we can do for you...

DonsOnline was created in 2004 primarily to show video highlights from AFC Wimbledon football matches.

The site was very basic (it had to be as is was written in pure HTML in notepad) but was revamped a couple of years later to use php and MySQL. We also added some flash code to allow us to stream video smoothly. Any code updates, though few and far between, are still made through notepad as we can't justify the effort to convert the code.

As the site is no longer active there may be broken links etc.

We're no longer permitted to film matches as The Dons have moved up the leagues to their present position in the Football Conference, but the fixtures and results section is still maintained.

The FreshbiNNs site was created using the DonsOnline football site as a template.

This was our first commercial site and now shows it's age.

As with DonsOnline, the static content is managed through notepad as we don't have the time to convert it.

Variable content (newsflashes, customer recommendations) is held in a MySQL database to allow us to update it as required.

The Brackley Tennis Club site was created using Microsoft Expression Web - a professional level web development suite of programs.

Variable content is again managed using php and MySQL with authorised users able to make content updates once they have logged in.

Layout and static content continue to be managed through Expression Web.

Bottlebrush is an online shop built using the Zen Cart e-commerce package.

The site owner has full control over the appearance, content and feel of their shop.

The system can interface with most of the popular online payment systems such as PayPal, Nochex etc.

If you are looking for an online shop in a hurry, we'd suggest you use a service such as Amazon or ebay as it can take several weeks to build a site like this.

The Brackley Information Bureau website is currently built around the Wordpress blogging tool.

We are currently building the database backend which will allow visitors to search for the service they require in just a couple of mouse clicks.
